Wapakoneta outslugged Bath for a 9-6 win in a showdown of Western Buckeye League softball leaders on Friday afternoon.

Both teams came in unbeaten in league play, with six wins for Wapakoneta and seven for Bath. Wapakoneta improves to 7-0 and 11-7 overall, while Bath now sits at 7-1 and 16-2 in all contests.

Offense was the showcase on both sides, with Wapakoneta racking up 15 hits and the Wildkittens having 11.

For the Lady Redskins, Allie Wilson had three hits and a walk. Carlie Schroeder and Tianna Thompson each had a double and single. Schroeder and Maddie Doseck, who had two hits, each drove in three runs. Wilson and Corrin Wilder had one RBI apiece. Every batter reached base, and all but one had at least one hit.

Rylie Jeanneret went the distance, with three walks and four strikeouts.

Besides all the hits, the Redskins defense was sharp, with Katiie Lisi and Wilson in particular having catches at vital moments.
