It was a tale of two halves, and it proved to have an unhappy ending.

Wapakoneta kept pace with visiting Shawnee for the first half on Thursday night, but the Lady Indians kicked up the pace and recorded a 55-35 win.

Wapakoneta is now 4-6 on the year and 1-3 in Western Buckeye League play.

The Lady Redskins led by one after the first period. Shawnee took the lead by halftime, but by just three points.

The second half saw Shawnee increase the pace and force Wapakoneta into a number of turnovers and mistakes. Wapakoneta had just 11 points combined in the third and fourth periods, with only three baskets.

Alyssa Harrod had 11 points, Casey Minnig scored 10 and Nikane Ambos put in eight for Wapakoneta.

Shawnee (2-1 WBL, 8-2) was led offensively by Zoe Best with 18, Grace Freiberger with 15 and Ania Person with 10.
