Wapakoneta paid a visit to Bath on Friday night, and the Wildcats defended their turf and then some, handing the Redskins a 50-35 defeat in Western Buckeye League action.

The loss drops Wapakoneta to 2-3 in league play and 9-6 overall. They have lost four of their last five games.

Wapakoneta got off to a good start, jumping out to a nine-point lead at the beginning of the contest. Bath chipped away and led by two at the break.

The teams were tied at 25 a few minutes into the third. From that point, the Wildcats took over, as the Redskins would score just 10 points the rest of the game. They shot 22 percent (12 of 55) overall.

For the Redskins, Zach Rogers and Garrett Siefring each had 10 points, and Noah Ambos scored seven.

The Redskins will host Kenton on Tuesday night.
