Wapakoneta and Lima Central Catholic battled through regulation and a couple of extra sessions on Tuesday, with the Thunderbirds eventually leaving with a 74-71 victory.

Wapakoneta is now 9-5 overall on the season. For this contest, they wore the uniforms of the Buckland Bucks, which also had red and white colors.

In the final stage of regulation, LCC twice made shots to take a lead. Each time, the Redskins evened it up with clutch free throws by Garrett Siefring and Zach Rogers.

After each side missed on a final opportunity, they headed to overtime. The visitors were up by as much as seven points. Again, the Redskins clawed back within a point with 10 seconds to go. After a free throw by LCC, senior Noah Ambos stepped up and hit two from the line with 4.3 seconds left.

The visitors then outscored Wapakoneta 5-2 in the second OT to get the win.

Ambos finished with 22 points on the night, while Kaden Siefring had 20 and Garrett Siefring put in 13.

Wapakoneta will travel to Bath on Friday for its next contest.
