The Wapakoneta girls basketball team got its first league victory in dramatic fashion on Thursday, topping Van Wert 51-50.

The Lady Redskins led by as much as 14, then held on after a rally by the Cougars. 

Nikane Ambos' two free throws with seven seconds to go were the ultimate difference.

Wapakoneta (1-2 WBL, 2-4 overall) hosts Fort Recovery on Tuesday.
