LIMA — The Wapakoneta and Waynesfield-Goshen cross country teams traveled for the Bath Cross Country Invitational Tuesday.Â
The Redskin boys and Tiger girls each finished third in team scores.Â
The Tiger boys finished sixth out of nine. The Wapakoneta girls team did not have enough participants to qualify for a team score, only five did.Â
Wapakoneta and W-G were two of 15 teams taking part in the meet.Â
Between both schools s Wapakoneta’s Axton Fosnaugh had the top finish after he took third in the boys’ 5K with a time of 17:03.80.Â
For the Redskins, Fosnaugh was followed by Cash Schadl finishing seventh with a time of 17:47.77. Crew Allen was the next Wapakoneta member to cross the finish line as he completed the race in 18:58.23 and finished 16th.
Hayden Sell (18th) and Peyton Moyer (24th) rounded out the top five finishers for the Redskin boys, Sell had a time of 18:59.83 and Moyer finished in 19:16.58.Â
Noah Schlosser (25th), Kolvyn Clausing (39th), Christian Augsburger (47th), Ethan Cope (64th) and Lucas Kline (83rd) all also took part in the meet for the Redskins.Â
 For the Tiger boys, Damian Canter finished first for W-G and 17th overall with an 18:58.27 finish.Â
Brody Barrington took home a 26th place finish for the Tigers in 19:20.70. Barrington was followed by Noah Dotson’s 19:51.42 and 30th place finish.Â
Jayden Duvernay (58th) and Brady Chapman (75th) capped off the top five runners for the Tigers. Duvernay had a time of 21:46.27 and Chapman finished at 24:52.30. Â
Avin Sanpietro (87th) was the lone Tiger to not qualify for the team score.Â
The Waynesfield-Goshen girls’ team finished third as a team and was led by Kyra Sutherland and Chloe Frye’s 17 and 18th-place finishes. Sutherland had a time of 23:24.95 and Frye finished in 23:25.55.Â
Kennedy Bigelow was the third Tiger to finish as she placed 24th with a time of 24:13.11. Anna Brodman (26th) and Raegan Hutchison (32nd) were the fourth and fifth Tigers to complete the race, with times of 24:51.21 and 25:56.27.Â
Cassidy Bigelow (33rd) and Amelia Ball (43rd) both also competed for the Tigers.Â
The Lady Redskins only had three participants as they did not qualify for a team score.Â
Lillith Lautzenheiser led the way for Wapakoneta with a 12th-place finish and a time of 22:28.02.Â
Mariel Augsburger (14th) and Ashley Elkins (19th) followed Lauzenheiser with times of 22:04.77 and 23:28.30.Â
Wapakoneta and Waynesfield-Goshen will be back in action Saturday as the Redskins will be at Botkins and the Tigers will be at Kalida.Â
