VANDALIA — Botkins held off a determined opponent Friday as they defeated Cedarville 42-40 in the Region 16 championship of the Divison IV boys basketball tournament.

Botkins (25-3) was led by Jayden Priddy-Powell with 16 points. Carter Pleiman had the game clinching free throws in the closing seconds.

Botkins will face Richmond Heights in a state semifinal contest next Friday at the University of Dayton. The game will tip off at 11 a.m.

The other semifinal will pit Columbus Grove and Glenwood at 2 p.m.

The state final is set for Sunday, March 21 at 10:45 a.m.
