The 2018 class claimed the 2022 Wapakoneta basketball alumni tournament title Saturday after a championship win.
It was a step up — and what a step.
The Wapakoneta baseball team started the weekend by beating the Celina Bulldogs 3-0 Saturday and then falling to the Tiffin Columbian Tornadoes 12-0 on Sunday. The Sunday loss finished the Redskin season with a record of 18-5-1 and a runner-up spot in districts.
The latest chapter in this rivalry was a thriller.
The Wapakoneta Redskin baseball team picked up a 15th win of the season over a quality 19-2 Lima Perry team in non-league play. The Redskins were able to dominate the Commodores in a 12-0 win.
The Redskins get a 13-0 win over the Spartans of Toledo Start. The Spartans knocked Wapakoneta last year in the sectional final in an 11-8 game, this year the Redskins get revenge and capture a sectional title.

Wapakoneta baseball successfully picked up their 12th win of the season after beating visiting Coldwater 6-1. The Redskins were able to get out and score early, opening the game with a 3-0 lead after two. Wapakoneta’s Grant Jolly was able to get the no-hitter in the win, pitching all seven innings.
The Wapakoneta Redskins completed their perfect season in Western Buckeye League play after beating Bath in a tight 8-6 match. Bath was able to cling to a lead for the first two innings, but the Redskins took advantage of a big third inning at the plate and never looked back.
The Wapakoneta Redskins clinched their fifth outright Western Buckeye League Championship with Wednesday’s 16-0 home win over Defiance. The Redskins scored early and often as they get the shutout win over the Bulldogs. With the win, Wapakoneta picks up their first WBL title since 2017.
Indian Lake held off Wapakoneta baseball on Saturday, giving the Redskins a 9-6 defeat.
