The library is featuring a range of Halloween-themed activities this month, including "Cupcakes and Cursive," where students learn to write words in cursive like "pumpkin," "trick," "treat," "fall," and "leaf."

During the Halloween Haunted House Escape Room event, which started Monday evening and continues Mondays-Wednesdays Oct. 18-19, Oct. 25-26 and Oct. 31 (offered three times each day: 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Conference Room 2 in the Event Room), students are introduced to a scenario where they encounter a ghost who explains they must find the clues to find their parents in this school-aged through adult haunted house-styled mystery adventure. Children gain experience working together as part of a team to locate and interpret clues to solve a mystery. They wander around a darkened room filled with items that present false starts and misdirects to uncover, among the ghosts, spiders, vampires, and bats, a series of clues that will give them the combination to unlock a chest filled with goodies.
