Auglaize County Sheriff’s deputies chased a black Mustang through Wapakoneta earlier today (Wednesday).

Deputies had been looking for the as yet unnamed suspect on undisclosed charges since Tuesday evening. A deputy attempted to stop the suspect, who was driving a black Mustang and the suspect refused to pull over.

“When somebody got behind him, that’s when he didn’t stop and the pursuit was on,” Chief Deputy Mike Peterson said.

During the course of the pursuit one Sheriff’s cruiser and one unmarked cruiser were damaged as they tried to box in the vehicle.

Peterson confirmed objects may have been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit.

Scanner traffic indicated a revolver was found near Schlosser Funeral Home.

Peterson said there were threats of a gun involved, which is why deputies attempted to box in the vehicle.

Deputies were able to detain the suspect at the Clark gas station at the corner of Willipie and Pearl streets.
