An anti current magnet system was recently added to the Auglaize County Recycling Center sort line. The $100,000 magnet system separates tin and aluminum from other materials on the sort line. Solid Waste District Director Scott Cisco said it has already saved the county money and will help as their load increases. In 2020 the center processed 11 millions pounds of material, increasing the need for efficiency as demand has doubled over the last decade. Cisco said the new equipment will pay for itself.

“We can run this system with one guy if we had to,” he said.
