Wapakoneta tennis wins; area track and field teams in action

VAN WERT — The Wapakoneta boys tennis team kept its league record perfect with a 3-2 win over host Van Wert on Tuesday.
Jeffrey Adkins and John Doll won in singles play, while Noah Kirby and Austin Hancock got a win at first doubles.
FAIRLAWN — The Botkins track and field teams participated in a meet at Fairlawn on Tuesday, along with Russia, Houston and Jackson Center.
For the girls, Adriana Jutte won the 100m hurdles (16.64) and 300 hurdles (48.27) and 200m dash (27.10).
Emma Koenig took first in the 3200 (12:23.63).
In field events, Grace Homan took first in the discus (131 feet, 8 inches) and shot put (38-11).
Marcus Lee (116-9) and Justin Shuga (116-0) finished first and second in discus.
Collin Watterson took second in the 1600 run (5:07.92)
SHAWNEE — The Wapakoneta track and field teams traveled to Lima for a tri-meet with the Indians and Ben Logan on Tuesday.
In the 800, Paige Schneider took first (2.33.07), Caitlin Puff was sixth (2:55.51). Also running were Danielle Hasting (3:13.53) and Bailey Ford (3:16.45).
Schneider also won the 1600 (5:48.57), with Puff fourth (6:36.25) and Hasting ninth (7:14.89).
Aaron Chambers was second in the 100 dash (12.31) and Owen Simonson was second in the 400 (55.73).
