Rep. shares first year with Rotary

With just over a year in office under his belt, State Representative Craig Riedel updated a roomful of Rotarians Monday on what caught his attention during those first 13 months in the Ohio House, and what’s on his agenda for the year to come.

Riedel, a Republican who calls Defiance home, was sworn in as the representative of Ohio’s 82nd District on Jan. 3 of 2017, and found himself immediately immersed in the state’s biennium budget. He said he and his colleagues spent the first six months of the year dialing in on all aspects of what that $65.5 billion budget funds. The rookie legislator said it was an enormous job for someone who just walked in the door, to say nothing of being eye-opening.
