Redskins, Trojans compete in Cardinal invite

MINSTER — Two area teams competed in the Cardinal Invitational on Tuesday.
The tournament was hosted by New Bremen and played at Arrowhead Golf Club (par 72).
Minster took first in the 13-team field with a score of 319. Fort Loramie was second with 332, and Wapakoneta was third with a score of 338. Botkins finished seventh with a score of 365.
Zach Pleiman of Fort Loramie was the individual medalist with a round of 74. Grant Voisard of Minster was second with 76.
Drew Zwiebel of Wapakoneta and Nick Fischio of Botkins each had 77 to tie for third, along with Conner VanSkyock of Versailles.
Coach Mike Brown of Wapakoneta said, "This was a good showing for our young team. I know our boys are giving it their best."
Besides Zwiebel, other scores for Wapakoneta were Jon Hefner (85); Dylan Timmerman (86); Clay Wilsey (90), Tim Bruns (90), and Gabe Bogan (113).
For the Trojans, in addition to Fischio, scores were Alex Bajwa (93), Jameson Meyer (95), Isaac Cisco (100), Jack Dietz (104) and Anthony Opperman (109).
