The Wapakoneta football team knew it was in the Division III playoffs.
Now comes one rematch, followed by the potential for another.
Wapakoneta completed the 2019 season with a record of 9-1, winning a share of the Western Buckeye League title at 8-1.
As a result, they finished second in the final Region 12 computer rankings from the Ohio High School Athletic Association, which were released Sunday. The top eight teams in each region qualified for the postseason.
The Redskins will host the regional quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Friday at Harmon Field. On the opposite sideline will be Trotwood-Madison (7-3), who earned the seventh seed.
The Redskins and Rams met in the same round a year ago, with Wapakoneta rallying for a 24-21 victory.
