Redskins baseball wins regular season finale

The Wapakoneta baseball team ended the 2019 regular season on a positive note, as they defeated Jefferson 6-1 in a nonleague contest on Thursday.
Trevor Crow threw three innings and Jett Makar pitched four to earn the victory for the Redskins. Crow allowed one run and five hits and walked one. Makar allowed two hits and two walks but no runs. Crow struck out three and Makar got five K's.
At the plate, Brady Erb had a solo home run and Ryan Carrico had two hits including a double. Cooper Talowsky had two hits. Besides Erb, others driving in runs were Makar, Carrico, Trevor Behr, and Eric Carpenter.
Wapakoneta is 10-10 on the season.
They will be off until next week's sectional tournament. The Redskins are seeded seventh. They will open at home against #11 seed Kenton on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The winner will face top seed Van Wert on Friday in the sectional final.
