The Wapakoneta Redskins made seven 3-pointers in the first quarter of their 67-48 win Thursday against the Elida Bulldogs.

The seven triples unofficially tied for second place in the history of Ohio High School Athletic Association girls basketball for the most by one team in a quarter. The state record is eight, and the Redskins join fellow Western Buckeye League member Bath and six other teams in second place.

Lexi Jacobs made three 3-pointers, while Megan Fisher and Maddi Stiles made two each in the opening period for the Redskins, who improved to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the WBL.

Jacobs finished with 17 points to tie for the game-high in scoring. Elida's Destiney Owens also had 17.

Fisher ended with four of the Redskins' nine 3s on her way to 14 points. Fisher has 33 in 12 games this season. The school record is 69. Sarah Pothast added 10 points in less than two quarters of action.
