Police show off usefulness of TASER

A huge crowd turned out to Harmon Park on Tuesday evening's for the annual National Night Out in a stunning show of support for Auglaize County Law Enforcement.

The event, hosted by the Wapakoneta Police Department, the Wapakoneta Fire/EMS, and the Wapakoneta Noon Optimist Club, gave local agencies a chance to have some fun and get some face time with the community.

It was also a chance to show off some of their equipment, specifically the TASER, a self-defense weapon law enforcement officers carry that discharges an electric shock.

The unlucky volunteers were two of their own, Cody Stanfill, a patrolman with the Wapakoneta Police Department, and Cody Salsbury, a firefighter/paramedic with the Wapakoneta Fire/EMS Department.

The demonstration, Stanfill said, would hopefully clear a few things up for the public.
