COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the division assignments for the 2019 football season.
While most area schools stayed the same from 2018, there were a few changes.
Wapakoneta remains in Division III, along with fellow Western Buckeye League members Celina, Defiance, Elida, and Shawnee. Joining them this season will be St. Marys, which has moved up from Division IV based on enrollment numbers.
Kenton, Ottawa-Glandorf, and Van Wert are in Division IV, while Bath will be in Division V.

In the Northwest Central Conference, all members are in Division VII, with the exception of Elgin, which will be in Division VI. The only change was for Perry, which moved down one division due to enrollment numbers.

The two members of the Shelby County League that have football are Fort Loramie and Anna. The Redskins, members of the Cross County Conference stay in Division VII. The Rockets, who play in the MAC, moved from Division V to VI.

The regular season begins the week of Aug. 26. The state championships will be Dec. 5-7 at Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
