The Wapa Theater was the location of a special premiere on Saturday. Wapakoneta’s own Cedric Gegel gave a special screening of his short film “Hidden in Stone.” Seeing the movie on the big screen brought delight to not only the film’s actors and crew but also to the residents. Gegel himself was nervous about premiering it, but was happy to see locals come out to watch the movie.

“I think that there’s a lot to be said about people coming out to see a movie at 9 a.m. that doesn’t have a Marvel budget,” Gegel said.

Gegel spoke to the audience about the making of the film and gave special recognition to the actors who were in attendance, including Austin Drake, who had to fill in for another actor at the last minute. Another actor present was Chase Little-Battle who played rebel member Saul, who was thrilled to see his first onscreen performance play out on the big screen.

“I think this was amazing,” said Little-Battle. “Cedric is a great guy and did a wonderful job putting it together.”
