Local artists sought for Riverside show

If you're an artist, experienced or not, now's your chance to get your works on display, right here at home, in the Riverside Art Center.

Wapakoneta's downtown art gallery and workshop will again be hosting the Greater Wapakoneta Community Art Exhibit, which offers local artists from Auglaize and its surrounding counties, to have their paintings, photographs, drawings, or ceramics an opportunity to compete in a juried show.

The original art works, which can be dropped off at the art center on Monday, Sept. 10, between 4 and 7 p.m., will be on display for nearly a month, showcasing the many burgeoning and established talents west central Ohio has to offer.

And there's also a bit of a payday on the line.

The 'Best of Show' winner will take home $200, while each categories blue ribbon winner will take home $100 for their efforts.

The extensive prize list, which includes monetary awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in water color, oil, acrylic, photography, drawing, and ceramic/sculpture, is not without purpose, president of Riverside Art Center Deb Fischer says.
