As openers go, it provided a good show.
The Wapakoneta girls basketball opened the 2019-20 season on Friday, going back and forth before visiting Minster found a few more points in a 57-53 nonleague win.
The teams were separated by just one point after one, and even at 23 at halftime. The Lady Redskins (0-1) were up one going into the fourth. Minster built a six-point lead but Wapakoneta rallied to tie it at 48 with 4:31 to play. Minster then retook the lead, ran some time off the clock, and held on.
