Kerry Hasting, 58

Kerry Bill Hasting, 58, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Lima, the son of Evalyn Jean (Shaner) and Wilbur “Bill” Hasting. His father is deceased, and his mother, Evalyn Jean Hasting Ellis survives in Wapakoneta. On July 6, 1974, he married Cynthia Elaine “Cindy” Leonard Hasting, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Brandi Nicole Hasting, of Columbus, Ashley Kristine (M. Tyler) Carey, of San Marcos, Texas; three siblings, C. Darren (Tracy) Hasting, of Oregon, Dianna “Pink” (Mike) Lafon, of Bellefontaine, Kelly (Charles) Beller, of Urbana; three step-sisters, Barbara (Ron) Swygert, of Alger, Amy (John) Derr, of Carey, and Pam Gresock, of Brooklyn; a step-brother, David (Lori) Ellis Jr., of Carey; a special niece and caregiver, Jamie Hasting Whitling; and three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda (Gary) Snow, Cheryl Kirkman, and Carl McCune.
He was preceded in death by a step-father, David L. Ellis; grandparents, Carl and Eva Shaner; a brother-in-law, Charles Ross; a father-in-law, Albert M. Leonard, a mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Imogene and Ronald K. Swick; three brothers-in-law, Paul Leonard, Jerry Leonard, and Jim Leonard; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn McCune.
Kerry worked as an electrician with Peerless Machine Co. in Sidney and Minster Machine Co. A faithful man of God, he was a member of the Plum St. Bible Church, in Wapakoneta. He was a 1972 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School, and a member of the United Steel Workers’ Union. He loved music, and electronics especially computers. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Ron Boyer officiating.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
