Collection under way for Christmas

With the holiday on the horizon, organizers of the Christmas Cheer program in Wapakoneta are getting ready to take in the last few collections of the year.

The group, which collects donated gifts and non-perishable food to be distributed to families in need, will be rounding up all of the collection bins scattered around the community on Friday, Dec. 7, meaning this week is the last chance for any potential donors to contribute this year.

On Dec. 9, the group will take over the Jr. Fair Building at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds, where they will organize, and ultimately distribute the items across the greater Wapakoneta community, offering a helping hand to local families in need.
