Coffee and conversations held county-wide

Law enforcement officials across Auglaize County met with members of the community at various coffee establishments Wednesday as part of a National Coffee with a Cop day.

At Winans Chocolates and Coffee in downtown Wapakoneta, seven law enforcement officers representing the Wapakoneta Police Department and Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office arrived in full uniform.

The meet-up there was scheduled from 8-10 a.m.; about 15-20 people stopped by to chat, according to Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon’s estimate.

Conversations were brief, the sheriff said.

“The problem,” Solomon said, “is that you are dealing with people’s work schedule. This means conversations are shorter than they might otherwise be.”
