Members of the Lady Trojans were part of the large field competing Friday at the Division III Regional track and field championships.
Two seniors, Grace Homan and Adriana Jutte, punched tickets to the state meet next weekend in Columbus.
Homan had the top throw in the discus — 128 feet, 1 inch — to claim a berth. Earlier in the week, she had finished second in the shot put to qualify in that event as well. (Qualifiers are the top four individuals or relay teams in each final.)
Joining her will be Jutte. She finished fourth in both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. In the 100, she had a time of 15.89 seconds, then ran the 300 in 46.61.
Also competing was Emma Koenig, who finished fifth in the 800 meter run. She had a personal best time of 4:14.09, coming very close to qualifying.
In the 4x400 relay, Koenig, Jill Greve, Kelsie Burmeister, and Jutte finished sixth with a time of 4:14.09.
Freshman Aleah Johnson made the podium as well, taking eighth place in the discus, with a best throw of 114 feet, 3 inches.
By finishing in the top eight, all the Botkins competitors were part of the All-Regional team.
They also collected 36 points to finish fifth in the 38-team field.
