ACCA honors volunteers during fest

All-day rain put a damper on the outdoor activities planned at the 7th annual Harvest Fest Saturday, but organizers simply dodged the rain drops, moved what they could indoors, and the show went on.

Sponsored by the Auglaize County Council in Aging, Harvest Fest is a fund raiser for the organization, planned to put extra dollars into the agencies coffers to provide services for local senior citizens. While the weather moved the car show into a building and limited the hay rides, the event still drew in folks to the craft show and health fair as well as the lineup of entertainers who played in the Junior Fair building.

At noon, the entertainment was paused so ACCA officials could say thank you to a few of their own. Director Bob Warren recognized employees and volunteers without whom, he said, many things wouldn’t happen. A number of the volunteers were on hand to receive...
