Thomas H. “Tim” Bault, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima. He was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Lima, the son of John Daniel “Dan” and Elinor Crawford Bault, who preceded him in death. On June 13, 1957, he married Sharlene R. Wallace, and she survivies.
Other survivors include three sons, Michael T. (Shirley) Bault, of Corona, Calif., David W. (Susan) Bault, of Maineville, Ohio and Thomas C. (Kim) Bault, of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Sara, Allison, Tyler, Lauren, Mitchell and Christian; a brother, John D. (Mary Lou) Bault, Jr., of Wapakoneta.
Tim worked as a banker and retired as vice president of Fifth Third Bank after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Kiski High School in Pennsylvania, attended Defiance College and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included the Wapakoneta Country Club, the American Legion, Post #330, Wapakoneta, the Wapakoneta Sertoma Club and the former Wapakoneta Elks. He was a past president of the Waynesfield Lions Club, and served on Waynesfield City Council. Tim was a member of the Wapakoneta High School football chain gang for 33 years, and was an avid fan of the Wapakoneta Redskins football and basketball teams, as well as The Ohio State University Buckeyes. The loves of his life, next to his family, included playing golf and working in his yard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Kim Pope-Seiberling officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
