Georgeanna Winget, 99, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born July 23, 1914, in Lima, the daughter of Iona (Betz) and Edward Penn. In 1956, she married Robert Winget, and he died in 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Constance Sprague, of Coquille, Ore., and Linda (Dick) Watt, of Wapakoneta; a step-daughter, Susan (John) Jackson, of Lima; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Nancy Scott; a brother, Edward Penn; and two sisters, Jane Moore and May Jones.
Georgeanna retired as circulation manager at the St. Marys Evening Leader. She later worked at the Tampa Tribune, in Tampa, Fla. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed quilting, playing euchre, and snorkeling, especially in the Cayman Islands.
According to her wishes, there will be no public services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
