William F. “Ollie” Anderson Sr., 79, of Cridersville, died at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Lima, the son of Gladys Erma (Shaw) and Fred L. Anderson, who preceded him in death. On May 29, 1956, he married Shirley Ann Luke, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William F. “Bill” (Tammy) Anderson Jr., of Cridersville, and Robert L. (Lori) Anderson, of Cridersville; a daughter, Karen S. (Neal) Burk, of Cridersville; five grandchildren, Kristin Lunz, Lacey (Arimis) Jeffers, Dylan Anderson, Ryan Anderson, and Katie (Al Flores) Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Victoria Lunz, Raegan Jeffers, Levi Jeffers, Daemon Flores, and Gabrael Flores; a brother, Donald (Eileen, dec.) Anderson, of Lima; a sister, Betty (Tom, dec.) McElroy, of Lima; and his beloved dogs, Chico and Angel.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Freddie Anderson.
Mr. Anderson retired from Randall Bearing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima. He was a former member of the Lima Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved old western movies and his family was his “first thing”.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Dick Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima. Military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
