Madeline J. “Maggie” Funk, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:22 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Lima, the daughter of Ethel E. (Musser) and Cloyd Shellenbarger, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 4, 1936, she married Robert H. Funk, and he preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1982.
Surviving are a son, Dan R. (Janet) Funk, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Don E. (Alice) Shellenbarger, of Lima; three grandsons, Joshua Funk, of North Dakota, Andrew (Alicia) Funk, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Nathan Funk, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Grayson, and Dawson.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Art Shellenbarger, Robert Shellenbarger, John Henry “Hank Shellenbarger, Harold Shellenbarger, and Bert Shellenbarger; and two sisters, Claire Marie Shellenbarger, and Leona Johnson.
She was a former member of the First Church of God. She retired in 1984 as a motor route carrier with the Lima News.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation, Eastside Chapel, with the Rev. Gale Gebhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Westminster Cemetery in Westminster.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
