Rebecca Suzanne “Becky” Mosler, 65, was called home by the Lord at 9:28 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at her residence. Her husband and children were at her side as she peacefully departed after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Becky was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Lima, the daughter of Mary Louise (Gehrlich) and Elmer Neumeier. Her father preceded her in death. On Aug. 20, 1966, she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Mosler, who survives.
Surviving are four sons, Toby (Michele) Mosler, of Wapakoneta, Ted (Liz) Mosler, of Raleigh, N.C., Tyler (Jodi) Mosler, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Thaddeus (Sara) Mosler, of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Tonya (Stephen) Henderson, of Wapakoneta, and Tina (Alan) Pignataro, of Lima. Becky was the proud grandmother of 21 precious gifts from God: Emily Henderson, Anne Henderson, Adam Henderson, Kate Henderson, Brooke Mosler, Courtney Mosler, Andrew Mosler, Jacob Pignataro, Vincent Pignataro, Derek Pignataro, Maria Pignataro, Ayden Mosler, Josie Mosler, Ellie Mosler, Gavin Mosler, Kylie Mosler, Ava Mosler, Samuel Mosler, Elijah Mosler, Isaiah Mosler and Kelly Mosler.
Also surviving are nine brothers, James (Elena) Neumeier, Richard Neumeier, Joseph (Kathy) Neumeier, Philip Neumeier, Frederick (Robin) Neumeier, Michael Neumeier, Samuel (Mary) Neumeier, Matthew Neumeier, and Mark (Christina) Neumeier; nine sisters, Janice Daum, Barbara (Tom deceased) Maloney, Bonita (Michael) Flood, Teresa (Michael) Elsass, Alice (Emerson deceased) Altstaetter, Nancy (Edward) Gutman, Mary Kay (Daniel) Drexler, Angela (Robert) Butler and Amy (Stuart) Meyers.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Victoria.
Becky graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965. Rooted in strong Catholic faith, she and her husband built upon their foundation of love by welcoming many children and grandchildren into their 46 years of marriage. Becky devoted her life to her family, church and community.
As an active member of St. Joseph Church, Becky served others with love through various ministries. For many years, she opened her heart as a Stephen Minister, served on Community Life Commission, assisted with the Children’s Choir, and founded and chaired the St. Joseph Garage Sale. Becky also used the power of prayer through her leadership of the St. Joseph Prayer Line, and gave of her time at Sunday service at the Wapakoneta Manor.
She was a dedicated homemaker and a loving mother for not only her children, but countless others in the community seeking childcare. “Grandma Becky,” as she was so lovingly known, touched many lives.
She had a passion for antiquing, scrapbooking, card-making, sewing, baking, and the Cincinnati Reds. She especially loved attending the many activities of her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 107 W. Pearl St., Wapakoneta, with the Revs. William O’Donnell and Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., Wapakoneta.
