Beatrice E. Swartz, 82 of Wapakoneta, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home in Wapakoneta.
She was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Lima, the daughter of the late Beola Estella (Long) and Emmitt Cloyd Stotts. She married Leon J. Swartz, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, David Leon (Bessie) Swartz, of Pueblo West, Colo., Ronny Lee (Marty) Swartz, of San Diego, and Carl Edward (Amy) Swartz, of Lima; three daughters, Eileen K. Zink, of St. Marys, Barbara L. (Ken) Burden, of Wapakoneta, Debra A. (Joe) Koenig, of Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren, Scott Koenig, Eric Koenig, Toby Koenig, Stacy Amstutz, Shannon Fittro, Jacob Swartz, Ashley Swartz, Greg Winegardner, Julie Winegardner, and Larry Winegradner; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Douglas Koenig and Terry L. Morris; a brother, Rolland Long; and a sister, Barbara L. Malcolm.
Mrs. Swartz was a retired bookkeeper with the city of Lima. She also had worked at Timmerman Ford in Lima for 27 years and had also worked at Bixel Ford in Bluffton.
She was a very loving woman; having great affection for her family whom she cherished. She had an appreciation for the outdoors. She loved fishing and it was a treat to fish with the grand boys. One of her passions was NASCAR and she enjoyed football rooting on the Denver Broncos. She loved watching her kids and grandkids playing sports.
Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Dottie Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
