Robert Keller, 66, of Marlinton, W. Va., died suddenly at home early Saturday morning, Feb. 25, 2012.
He was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Canton, the son of the late Mary Lou Marchand and Cecil Keller. He married Patricia Ravenscroft, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Katie Keller (Eric) Barrie, and Mollie Kristine Keller (Justin) Korona; two grandchildren, Jackson Barrie, and Logan Korona; two sisters, Barbara Keller (Rob) Frische, and Judi Keller (Ken) Blanton; and a nephew, Eric Marling.
He grew up in Bellaire and graduated from The Ohio State University and received his master’s degree from West Virginia University (WVU).
While in the Army, Bob served in Vietnam where he earned the Bronze Star. Following his service, he moved to Pocahontas County, where he was the WVU extension agent for 25 years. Following his retirement, Bob was a substitute teacher and a partner in Pocahontas Fish and Game Adventures fishing resort. Bob was manager of Pocahontas County Country Club, the position he held from 2008 to the present.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton, W. Va., with the Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Military honors will be accorded by members of the Keyser American Legion, of which he was a member.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
There will be no graveside service as Bob was cremated and his remains will be later joined to the Earth at locations special to his life.
