Two regular games and five Baker games.
That’s all that stands between the Wapakoneta Redskins varsity boys bowling team and an undefeated season.
Well, that and the equally undefeated Versailles Tigers.
Wapak and Versailles head into the final match of the West Ohio High School Bowling Conference season with identical 14-0 records. The Redskins are listed in first place based on total pins this season.
But that won’t matter when the two teams square off at 1 p.m. Saturday at 20th Century Lanes in Lima.
Wapak is coming off a 3,119-2,443 win over the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks on Saturday at Olympic Lanes in Van Wert.
Sophomore Chandler Kaeck had the top individual round for the Redskins, rolling a 246. Senior Anthony Kennard turned in two solid rounds for Wapak with a 245 and a 226. Sophomore Austin Krites bowled rounds of 230 and 203. And senior Zack Brannan chipped in with a 224.
The junior varsity boys also won to remain unbeaten at 11-0.
The varsity girls team also defeated Mississinawa Valley, topping the Blackhawks 2,468-2,047 on Saturday.
The win lifted Wapak to 10-2 on the season. The Redskins are in third place in the WOHSBC.
Senior Casey Feltz led the way with a 214. Junior Haley Grieves chipped in with a 202.
