FINDLAY — The Wapakoneta Redskins varsity boys and girls swim teams opened their seasons with losses in the season-opening meet Tuesday night at Findlay.
Taylor Law posted three wins for the Redskins girls team in a 108-75 loss to the Trojans.
The Wapak boys suffered a 127-52 defeat.
Law won in the 200 IM, 500 freestyle and the 400 free relay.
Joining Law in the 400 free relay were Josie Miller, Stephanie Kessen and Haley Buchanan. The foursome also finished second in the 200 medley relay.
Miller won the 100 freestyle and took second in the 200 IM.
Kessen was second in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 100 freestyle.
Buchanan placed second in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 100 backstroke.
Taylor Hager won the 100 breaststroke and took third in the 200 freestyle.
Other individual top-three finishes for Wapak included Hailey Kinstle (second, 500 freestyle) and Morgan Roediger (third, 100 backstroke).
In the 200 free relay, Hager, Julia Pepple, Katie Copeland and Cierra Robbins placed third.
For the boys team, Ryan Kremer recorded two wins.
Kremer took the top spot in the 200 IM and swam in the first-place 400 free relay team. He also grabbed a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay and 100 backstroke.
Nate Hager joined Kremer, Brandon Christler and Ryan Greve in the 400 free relay.
Hager was second in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and he notched another second in the 200 medley relay with Greve, Kremer and Christler.
Greve took third in the 100 freestyle.
Hayden Metzger placed third in the 500 freestyle.
Ryan Rosenbeck, Alex Gornall, Michael Giesige and Blake Bayliff recorded a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. Bayliff also placed third in the 100 breaststroke.
The Redskins return to action Saturday in the Van Wert Relay Invitational at the Van Wert YMCA.
