The Wapakoneta Redskins varsity girls golf team rolled to a 207-273 win over the Celina Bulldogs in its final Western Buckeye League match of the year Wednesday at a rainy Wapakoneta Country Club.
Despite the rainy conditions, the Redskins score was just two strokes off their team average.
Wapak is 9-10 overall and 2-5 in the WBL. Celina is 1-10 and 1-8.
Redskins senior Courtney Knippen fired a 44 to earn medalist honors in her final home match.
Rounding out the scoring for the Redskins were Shelby Kohler (50), Hannah Smith (55) and Bryly Beaman (58).
“I was glad to see Courtney come through with a good final round at home tonight,” Wapak coach Dawn West said. “It was a little bittersweet for both her and myself, she has done a great job for this Wapakoneta girls golf program for the past three years so it was nice to see her finish it out with a good score.
“She is an amazingly gifted athlete and it has been awesome to have the chance to help and teach her a sport she can play for life."
Low for Celina was Megan Stetler at a 61.
The Redskins will play in the Wayne Trace Invitational in Payne before heading to the Division I sectional tournament Wednesday at Detwiler Golf Club in Toledo.
