Barbeque chicken dinners are being sold to benefit an area family, who had lost their home due to a fire earlier this summer.
A benefit barbeque chicken dinner will be held for area couple Rachel and Tom Huelskamp. The couple, along with their four children, lost their home and all of it’s contests in a house fire on July 18.
The American Legion, in Wapakoneta, will be cooking up the meals on Sept. 9, and pick-up is available at the American Legion site, along with the Trupointe branches in Botkins, St. Marys, New Bremen, Uniopolis or Wapakoneta.
All tickets are presale, and they can be picked up from one of the Trupointe branches, the American Legion, in Wapakoneta, or by calling Mary Ann Rabette at 419-739-4600.
“Their house was a total loss,” event chair Rabette said. “We wanted to do this to help them out.”
The family is currently living in a double-wide trailer and are planning to build a new home on their property.
After the fire, the family lost their home and all of its contents. All of the proceeds from the chicken dinner fundraiser will benefit the family.
Rachel Huelskamp is employed at the Trupointe in Uniopolis, and Rabette said she wanted to help the family out.
The meal will consist of one-half chicken, potato chips, applesauce and a roll. The cost is $7 per ticket, and it will be pre-sale only.
If someone is unable to purchase a ticket, but would like to give a donation, it can be forwarded to the Wapakoneta Trupointe in an envelope marked “Huelskamp.”
