A Lima man was arrested early Sunday morning on breaking and entering charges after a homeowner reported suspicious behavior at his property.
Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon released information about the burglary this morning.
Deputies arrested Jeremiah J. Bayman, 33, for entering a garage to a residence.
A homeowner on Ohio 67 reported suspicious behavior involving several people to the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office at 8:45 a.m. Sunday.
Upon deputies arrival, Bayman and others, of Lima, claimed their vehicle had run out of gas.
The homeowner said Bayman allegedly had been searching his property for gasoline and been in an outbuilding without permission.
A flat screen television was reported missing from the property and deputies later discovered it in the disabled vehicle.
Bayman was incarcerated in the Auglaize County Jail while other occupants of the vehicle were released with no charges.
“This is a case of an alert homeowner calling in a suspicious incident as they should,” Solomon said this morning.
He said he believes Bayman and those with him is one of several groups entering outbuildings in the area.
The sheriff again urged residents to call to report any suspicious behavior.
