Hazel M. Kreitzer, 80, of Wapakoneta, died unexpectedly Friday, June 10, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Rose (Adkins) and Clarence E. Rudity, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 25, 1954, she married Raymond E. Kreitzer, and he died Oct. 23, 1995.
Survivors include, six children, David (Donna) Kreitzer, of Lima, Janet Cecala, of San Diego, Lynn Culver, of Wapakoneta, Susan (John) Smaha, of San Diego, Karen (Terry) Hutchinson, of Wapakoneta, Beth Caldwell, of Powell, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three siblings.
Hazel had worked at Brown’s Restaurant and the Foxy Lady, both of Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. She was a former member of the Wapakoneta Country Club and the Lost Creek Country Club, Lima. She received a degree in graphic design from the Cincinnati School of Art. Her hobbies included golfing, playing bingo and cards, cooking, but she most especially loved spending time with her family. She had also volunteered at God’s Storehouse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
