Zombies to invade downtown

October 23, 2013

Wapakoneta Elementary School Principal Mark Selvaggio participated in the Zombie Walk last year. He is the president of KAPOW which organizes the annual event.

Prepare to be bitten — zombies will be infecting Wapakoneta residents with a good cause this Saturday.
Kids, A Priority Of Wapakoneta (KAPOW) will be hosting its fourth annual Zombie Walk starting at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wapakoneta Middle School.
KAPOW Vice President Nina Laney said the idea for a zombie walk in Wapakoneta began four years ago, as zombie walks were a growing trend in bigger cities. The idea was a hit in Wapakoneta, as well, and the event has averaged more than 100 participants every year.
Laney said the costumes are entertaining and creative, ranging from zombie pirates to zombie Confederate soldiers.
For more information about the upcoming Zombie Walk, see the Wednesday, Oct. 23 edition of the Wapakoneta Daily News.
