YMCA schedules annual maintenance

August 26, 2014

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA will be having a modified shutdown schedule for maintenance this year.

Beginning yesterday and continuing throughout the rest of the week the Y will have maintenance activities underway causing some areas to have limited access.

The facility will also be closed beginning Friday, Aug. 29, through Monday, Sept. 1, for the Labor Day weekend.

In a statement released by Josh Little, the Y’s CEO, he said instead of closing the whole building for a week in August like years past, the building will only be closed for the long weekend.

“This long weekend will allow us to clean carpets, move machines, etc.,” he said in a statement on the Y’s website.

During the dates listed above the pool will also be closed in order to drain it.

Operating hours return to normal on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
