Wapakoneta's 6-match win streak ends

September 4, 2013

From staff reports

The Wapakoneta Redskins ended a six-match winning streak Tuesday with a 3-0 loss to the Coldwater Cavaliers in a non-league varsity volleyball match.

Tuesday's scores were 25-12, 25-7 and 25-15.

"Coldwater is a very disciplined and well-coached team," Wapak varsity coach Amy Ruppert said. "We struggled with our serve-receive and that contributed to our loss because we couldn't get our offense going.

"Coldwater has a solid program," she said. "You can't take anything away from them."

The loss put Wapak's season record at 6-2 overall.

The Redskins will continue their season Thursday with a road match against Elida in the Western Buckeye League.
