Wapakoneta edges St. Marys, 171-177, in WBL match

The Wapakoneta Redskins went unbeaten in home league matches this season, as they concluded the home portion of their Western Buckeye League schedule Thursday with a 171-177 win over the St. Marys Roughriders at the Wapakoneta Country Club.

Wapak went 4-0 in league matches in 2013.

Bobby Crow led Wapak with a nine-hole score of 40 on Thursday.

Crow has shot a 40 in four straight matches.

Drew Wayman followed Crow with a 41. Ryan Hunlock (44) and Nick Bruns (46) rounded out Wapak’s scoring.

St. Marys’ Carter Bowman was the match medalist Thursday with a 39.

Colin Burke (42), Kyle Kiefer (46) and Hunter McMurray (50) completed St. Marys’ scoring.

The Redskins improved to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the WBL.

Their final league match will be played Monday against Van Wert.

St. Marys dropped to 3-5 in the WBL.
