Wapak shuts out Bath, 5-0, in WBL

The Wapakoneta Redskins remained unbeaten Monday with a 5-0 win over the Bath Wildkittens in a Western Buckeye League varsity girls tennis match.

The win moved Wapak to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the WBL this season.

The Redskins won all five matches in two sets and lost only four games in the entire match Monday.

At first singles, Kaitlin Snyder blanked Dana Wieging, 6-0, 6-0. Allie Zofkie shut out Madison Pauff, 6-0, 6-0, in second singles. Rachel Roberts handled Maddie Helmig, 6-2, 6-0, at third singles.

In first doubles, Kiersten Wellons and Chelsea Myers beat Katie Hurdman and Jordan Haller, 6-2, 6-0. At second doubles, Carly Buzzard and Amanda Sims blanked Grayce Smith and Danielle Caster, 6-0, 6-0.

The Redskins will resume their season Wednesday with a home match at 4:30 p.m. against Bluffton in non-league action.
