Wapak to run on state meet course

The Wapakoneta Redskins cross country teams will head to the site of the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championships Saturday to compete in the OHSAA Early Season Invitational at National Trail Raceway in Hebron.

The invitational is Wapak’s first regular season event of the 2013 season.
Wapak’s boys team will compete at 1:50 p.m. Saturday in Section F, one of four scored boys races, while the Redskins girls squad will race at 4:20 p.m. Saturday in Section H, one of four scored girls races.

Dozens of both boys and girls high school cross country teams will converge on Hebron this Saturday.

This is the first time Wapak will compete in the event, which is in its second year.

National Trail Raceway will host the OHSAA cross country state championships for the third straight season in 2013, as this year’s state meet will be held Saturday, Nov. 2.
