Wapak records 2nd straight shutout in win over SJ

The Wapakoneta Redskins recorded their second straight shutout in their third straight non-league win with a 3-0 victory Thursday over the St. John’s Blue Jays in Delphos.

Wapak had non-league wins over Ottoville and Fort Jennings in its first two games of this season, with a 5-0 score in the Fort Jennings win.

The Redskins’ scored all three of their goals in the second half.

Brittany Pequignot had two of the team’s three goals. Pequignot converted a corner kick from Mackenzie Custer and then scored unassisted for her second.

Sara Warner tallied Wapak’s third goal, which was unassisted.

Wapak is now 3-0 overall this season.

The Redskins will enter Western Buckeye League action in their next match, which will be held Monday at Kenton.
