The Wapakoneta Redskins lost their first match of the season Monday in a 150-165 defeat against the Bath Wildcats in Western Buckeye League varsity boys golf play at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course in Lima.

Wapak’s team score of 165 was a season low, however.

Bobby Crow led Wapak with a 37. Drew Wayman was next with a 40. Nick Bruns had a 43, while Alex Gossard and Lucas Lightle each carded 45. Jared Miller added a 50.

Brady Garver and Eric Jordan each scored a 36 for Bath on their way to being the match’s co-medalists. Evan Hall (37) and Adam Vieira (41) concluded Bath’s scoring.

“They are a very strong team that has four really good scores on a consistent basis,” Wapak varsity coach Kenny Wayman said. “We have our scores getting lower as a team. We just need to continue in the right direction.”

The loss dropped Wapak to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the WBL.

Wapak will return to action Thursday in another WBL match against Shawnee at Shawnee Country Club.
