Wapak cruises to 5-0 win over Lima Senior

The Wapakoneta Redskins did not lose a game Friday in their 5-0 win Friday over the Lima Senior Spartans in a non-league varsity girls tennis match at the Collett Street Courts in Lima.

The win was Wapak’s second by a 5-0 score and moved the team’s record to 2-0 this season.

Recording wins in singles action Friday were Kaitlin Snider (first), Kiersten Wellons (second) and Chelsea Myers (third).

Appearing in their first matches of the season, Carly Buzzard and Mackenzie Haverman were Wapak’s victorious first singles team. The duo was slated to play Tuesday against Bellefontaine but their match was forfeited.

Also making their first appearances this season, Wapak freshmen Madison Watt and Cassidy Hayes earned win at second singles Friday.

The Redskins will visit Kenton in their Western Buckeye League opener at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
