The Wapakoneta Redskins completed their home schedule undefeated in 2013 after a 179-207 win Tuesday over the Indian Lake Lakers in non-league varsity boys golf action.

The win made Wapak 7-0 at home this season.

“It’s always nice to win at home but especially for the senior group,” Wapak varsity coach Kenny Wayman said. “We couldn’t ask for a better ending for the senior class.

“Not many teams can say they finished undefeated at home,” he said. “I salute the senior class and its accomplishments.”

Drew Wayman led Wapak with a 41. Bobby Crow, Alex Gossard and Ryan Hunlock carded 46 each.

Dan Bogan and Jared Miller also played for Wapak and scored 51 each.

Crow had led Wapak in four straight matches entering Tuesday and was coming off of a season-low 37 against Van Wert.

“The scores were a little high because everyone on the team played a little too loose out there today,” Wayman said Tuesday. “However, a win is a win.

“I think everyone was enjoying the moment and taking it all in stride today,” he said.

Caleb Meadows was Indian Lake’s lowest scorer at 47.

The Redskins will next compete in the Western Buckeye League Tournament on Friday at Shawnee Country Club in Lima.
